Hi carole and othersI think you can only put Office 2003 on computers a few times, maybe 2 or 3 times so that is another reason why the key may not be accepted.

Yes, I've recently reinstalled Office 2003 and hadn't got the key to hand when I installed. When first I ran one of the programmes within MS Office I got a message about entering the 24 (or is it 26?) digit number and did that. Everything was then working fine!HTH: -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxOn Saturday, January 17, 2009 5:34 PM (UK time), ANDY COLLINS at Andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx said:Thanks John - Chris's suggestion was not to run the CD, but to just use the key off the box to put in to the existing installed software; I imagine anyway, running the CD, might well produce a message that there is already a version of the software installed - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: "john coley" <johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, January 17, 2009 2:43 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Installing office software from a flash driveYes you can copy it no problem. Just make sure that you set windows to show hidden files and folders. There will be files and folders on the cd that are hidden. If you don't set windows to show them when you try to copy the cd contents you will get a message to say there are hidden files. As long as you've done that you can just copy and paste the cd contents over to your flash drive. As far as just using the key from the cd I would think that Chris's suggestion of running the cd and letting it upgrade you from trial to full. That way you'll be sure it's going to work. If you put the key from your cd copy into the trial I don't know whether it'd work. It may do, but installing from the cd may be better. If so, won't all files and folders [hidden or otherwise] get coppied? - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: "john coley" <johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, January 17, 2009 2:31 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Installing office software from a flash driveAndy, remember before copying the cd contents over to set windows to show hidden files and folders.
