Marie, Not sure if this is exactly it, but in Tools, Pop-up Blocker, Pop-up Blocker settings, there should be a checkbox as to whether or not the info bar shows. Hopefully yours will be unchecked, so check it, then do ALT + C to close. You will then be placed back in your previous Browser Window. HTH. Cheers, and Seasons greetings to you and yours!
