under the distance buying regulations , i believe there is a short
period of time in which you cancel an order. however assuming this is an
auction site buyer protection is possibly not so good as if you where
making a normal   purchase rather than bid on an item. i would advise
seeking independent advice on that though as auctions tend to operate in
a gray area of consumer law.
