Having just listened to last night's In Touch and the feature on the 'major announcement' that we're waiting on re the availability of books in other formats I have a couple of comments / questions: It's my experience that more publishers are willing to release electronic files of their books but usually in pdf formats. As PDF is becoming less of an issue with advances in Jaws etc I was wondering whether or not commercial e-books such as those from Amazon etc are accessible to speech screen-reader users - i.e. does Jaws etc work with MS E-book reader and other such programs? Also, what are others experiences of asking publishers to release electronic files of books - so far for me this has either been academic texts at work or personal bible study / devotional material, have others had success with more mainstream novels etc? Finally re scanning in your own books, I've done this with an Epson perfection scanner & Kurzveil, what are people's experiences of using other scanners / ocr software, which seem to have best accuracy / speed of scanning / recognition? Ok, those are my ramblings for today, look forward to people's comments. Cheers, Phil This email is intended solely for the addressee. It may contain private and confidential information.
