Roger, Isn't Zen quite expensive. Dave Virgin net didn't but now it's Virgin Media the yearly contract has crept in there as well. A couple of friends are really singing the praises of Zen as a provider. I understand it's a consortium set up by HSBC and Lloyds TSB banks but I don't know any more than that at the moment. But they say it's the best thing since sliced bread. On my current package, I get a 40GB download cap and the speed of "up to" 8GB, though our exchange only supports 6.2 at the present time. Sky's Customer Services team is ok, but they charge you to use the 08705 number of course. My son, as a fanatic online gamer, thinks Sky is the worst ISP we have used. For the things Ian and I do with broadband though, it does the job for a fiver a month on top of the TV package we use. We are BT phone customers so don't use Sky Talk over and above that. I think the most crucial thing everyone has to remember with broadband in ADSL is the "up to" clause, which could mean literally anything these days. The other thing is that most of them will contract you for at least a year, but I believe Virgin.net don't, which is worth a thought. Good luck in your search. I'm currently with Tiscali on their combined phone & broadband package and have been with them for over 2 years without any problems although I do note from some online comparisons I've done they're not the best for the actual download speed you can get, customer service etc. The other 2 companies I am thinking about is the new o2 package which as an o2 pay-monthly customer gives me up to 8mb download speed for £7.50 per month or Sky with their combined tv, broadband and phone package. I guess my question is what experiences (positive and negative) people have of sky and o2 and if they're any other providers people would recommend? I do have a few essentials however like an unlimited download allowance and keeping the phone line rental with Bt as it's a rented property we're going into. I await your valued feedback as ever! many thanks, Phil ******************************************************************** This email and any attachments are confidential to the intended recipient and may also be privileged.
