Hi terry

1. I suggest you go to www.rockbox.org and follow the links. They are a bit
daunting at first, but once you get the hang of them they are ok.

2. You should download the latest firmware for the Iriver, I believe it is
version 2.29.

3. You need to download a patch for the Iriver firmware and a program called
FWPATCHER.

4. Having loaded FWPATCHER onto your PC, you should use it to update the Iriver
firmware. Be warned, you should use the mouse, or JAWS cursor, or
Window-Eyes equivalent, or whatever you use to click the options, otherwise it
fails.

5. You should also download the latest Rockbox daily build for the Iriver H340.

6. You also need to download a voice file and unzip it.

7. Having unzipped the latest Rockbox daily build and the newly-patched
firmware to the root of your Iriver, you need to flash the Iriver firmware.
There is a
description of how to do this using key presses on the site, but I did not have
the courage. A sighted colleague, who also has an Iriver did this for me.

8. You should THEN copy english.voice to the .rockbox.langs DIRECTORY ON YOUR
iRIVER.

9. After all this, when you next power up, it should go into Rockbox.

I trust someone will let us know if I have missed anything. I should warn you
that I have Rockbox on my Iriver H320 and it keeps going wrong. fortunately,
it
is still possible to boot to the Iriver firmware by pressing Record and Play
together.
