Hi Pele,
Don't forget this player is compatible with the Rockbox software, see
http://www.rockbox.org. With this software loaded, the player will speak
all the menus, and spell out file and directory names, thus making it quite
accessible. I have the H340, and it works fine. The only difference is
that the 320 is 20 GB and the 340 is 40 GB. But one thing puzzles me Pele.
You say you copy MP3 files to a compact flash card. Since the player
doesn't take CF cards as far as I know, what do you achieve by doing this?
This is a hard disk player, so CF cards ain't going nowhere. Unless you
mean you copy to a CF card, then use a CF card to transfer to your work
computer, then to the 320?

The iRiver h320 is about the size of a cassette. It can be connected
to the PC with a USB cable. It says it is compatible with Windows 98,
but not with my machine. Better people than me have tried!
I have got round this by copying tracks to a compact flash card and
connecting the iRiver to my Windows XP machine at work.
I use Windows Explorer as the player shows up as a hard drive.
The controls are relatively easy to use, except that some of them
perform a number of functions. I believe it can be tamed, but a
certain amount of assistance is necessary to get going. It has a radio
and can record, but I have not used these functions much yet. The FM
radio is not very good.
I have downloaded a PDF version of the manual from the iRiver site, but
it is not over helpful as when it tells you wich button to press it
displays a graphic which is lost in translation.
I only asked for comments offlist because I thought people might not
want to read such specialist information.
