Yes, each device has its own folder within your iCloud account.

Yes, as the pod and the phone have two different accounts on the cloud.
Remove the apps from the pod, then back the pod up.

Just got an iPod and restored settings from iCloud from which I backup my
iPhone. All went swimmingly.

Now, there are about 75% of the apps its installed on my iPod that I don't
want on that device, ie all the GPS apps.

Can I comfortably remove them from the Pod without them also being removed
from the Phone?
