Battery life is better too I hear and the iPhone4 uses the same processer as
the iPad.

Apart from the various graphics and camera improvements (which is better at
scanning text for the purpose of OCR), the RAM has been upgraded to 512 MB,
the CPU clock speed improved, and various other things.
Personally, I'd wait a couple of months before you make up your mind; the
iPhone 5 is supposed to be released soon.
