1. Focus to the JAWS window with insert j. 2. Press alt u to open the utilities menu, and press c to open configuration manager. 3. Press shift control d to ensure that the setting will be applied globally. 4. Press alt s to open the set options menu, then press t to open the text processing dialogue box. 5. Tab until you hear, "detect languages check box checked". Press space to uncheck it. 6. Press enter. 7. Either press control s followed by alt F4 or simply press alt F4, pressing enter to accept the confirmation to save changes. Hope this helps. Hi all, Forgive a quick JAWS question but I can never remember where to turn off language detection permanently and not just in the Verbosity Settings. I can never locate this in the Help either ... Any help most welcome. -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
