[access-uk] Re: IMAP accounts and deleted messages

One more thing, Jaws doesn't report how many unread messages there're in a
folder when using Insert Page Down which I find annoying. In OE Jaws says
how many messages there are, and how many of them is unread. But that's
beside the point I suppose. I'm referring to Jaws 11 and Outlook 2003.

Thanks again.

Hi,

If space is not an issue, why don?t you change the view so that items marked
as deleted are just not displayed. In Outlook, it?s under the View menu >
Current View > Hide items marked for deletion.

The undelete feature is IMAP is one I find very useful, but it also gives me
the safety net if I do delete something of value I later want to retrieve.
Note that space is not an issue for me, but this is not the case for all
providers who may enforce a quota.

Also note that the purge whilst switching folders does have a performance
impact particularly if large numbers of messages have to be purged.

HTH.

Subject: [access-uk] IMAP accounts and deleted messages

Hello everyone,

I've just started using IMAP email accounts. When I delete a message it
stays in my inbox until it's purged and thus permanently gone. I don't like
it this way. So, can the deleted messages be moved to the deleted items
folder when they are deleted? Something akin to messages in POP3 accounts,
when a message is deleted, it is moved to the deleted items folder first and
then one can choose when to empty the deleted items folder. Having the
deleted messages staying in my inbox is frankly a bit confusing. Thanks.
