David - so far, I have been able to say "no" to installing IE7 when
installing updates, but my ISP in an email says that from Feb12, Windows
updates will force the installation of IE7; I mean, can they really do this
to users without consent? -

| Hi Andy,
|
| This is a quote from the Microsoft web page given
| below:
| Automatic Updates will first notify you when Internet
| Explorer 7 is ready to install and then show a welcome
| screen that presents key features and the choice to
| accept, decline or postpone installation.
|
| Plus, if you accidentally install it, you can always
| uninstall it.

| Hi all -
|
| Just heard about this today.
|
| On the 12th February Microsoft will force all
| automatic Windows updates to
| download Internet Explorer 7 and overwrite version 6.
|
| I wonder as I am still using JFW6.2, if I'll be able
| to prevent updates from
| doing this, because I Understand that I need JFW 7 or
| above to work with
| IE7 -
