Try doing a search for Virus Bulletin and AV Comparatives, don't have the UrLs to hand these are well respected sites. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Thanks, and where can I find these independent tests?

What this tells you is that your AV product is working. That is the reason for having this file. what it does not tell you and cannot is that you are totally protected. Your level of protection depends on the quality of your
AV product. Take a look at the independent test programs to determine
whether AVG is sufficient for your needs.

Hi all,
I use AVG Free. I looked on the Grisoft site to see how I can check that
my
e-mail scanner is properly working, and it told me to download something
called the Eica test file. So I did, and it saved to my desktop,
eventually,
when I told AVG to ignore it. Then what I did is opened Outlook Express
and
created a new message to myself and attached the eica.com file. When I
tried
to send the message, however, AVG came up and told me that a threat was
detected, so I clicked ignore. Does this mean I'm protected when I'm at
least sending e-mails? Thanks!
