Yes you certainly  are missing something.

Sighted people can go into any high street store and check out products for 
free. So if you are visually impaired you have to pay £45 or £50 to try out 
comercially available products, and with a representative from the company 
concerned present? Access to products and services legislation, am i 
misunderstanding something?
