Hi Tony.

I have a ZTE modem as well as the Huawei. The Huawei I'm afraid to say is totally inaccessible. It uses a program made by Birdstep Technology who haven't seen fit to either label graphics with meaningful text captions, nor provide any shortcuts for use with the keyboard. Oddly though, I also have a ZTE modem, yet find the software totally unusable as well. The software on my ZTE is 3 connection manager, is this the same on your modem? The only Huawei modem I have is the E169G which is old but the program has the shortcut keys I need to get online.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] Huawei & ZTE

Hi All,

I'm using a ZTE modem/dongle with 3 mobile broadband which is about 3.5 megabites of download speed.

I was sent an upgrade modem/dongle by 3 which was of Huawei but I couldn't access it using the keyboard as I could the ZTE one!

The latter one is faster with about 7.2 megabites I believe.

However I have now reverted back to my old ZTEdongle till I can possibly get the other sorted; well at least it mostly works for me!

Anyone out there cracked the 'connect/disconnect' keyboard-wise on the Huawei?

I have it for a week's trial starting today.

Thanks

Tony Sweeney
