Press the menu key, scroll using left or right arrows to the system
settings, then press the ok circle button. Then scroll to set the system
time, press the circle, then set the time, date, and day with the left and
right buttons, the same ones you would use to go back and forward within a
talking book. Once each is set, time, day, date etc, press the circle
button. So set time hours, press circle, set time minutes, press circle,
day, press circle, set date. Done. Hth.

Excellent. Thanks, Martin. Is it straight forward enough to reset the
date? I've never used one of these machines.

Cheers

Barry

Just reset the time and date to the furthest it will go back. Set it to
2001 but keep the day and time correct. That will do it.

Subject: [access-uk] How to turn off maintenance notification on old Victor
TB machine

Hi all

A friend of mine has an old Victor Reader Classic that has just started
announcing that it needs maintenance. When these machines were on loan from
the RNIB, it was time to get in touch with them for maintenance, but the
RNIB passed these machines on to the users. Is there a way to turn off this
announcement?

I can't find anything on Humanware's site nor with Google.

Cheers

Barry
