[access-uk] Re: How reliable are Bradley/Eone watches?

Hi.

Many thanks to everyone who responded to this thread. I think I will take a chance and order the watch. It seems to be the best option at the moment for a discrete solution without breaking the bank or spending money over the next few years replacing watches. The Silen-T did look interesting, but when the price is similar to a high end iPhone, I think I'd rather pass for now.

Very best wishes,

Mo.

Hi all,

I've found that the magnets don't actually deteriorate (unless it is due to
corrosion). The bearing just get a build up of sweat, oil, etc ... over time as
well as the tracks they run along. I've found periodically wiping the watch
with Isopropyl alcohol wipes have prevented that for me with my last Eone
Bradley which I've worn daily for about three years now. It also helps prevent
corrosion.

All the best, Paul

Mo

I would echo Yusuf's comments. I have found that the magnetic strength does
deteriorate over time. I had one replaced during the warranty period and the
second which is now about three years old is going the same way. I will not buy
another.

Hi Pete.

Sorry, I forgot to ask. Let's say you're lying down and you have your
arm on a slant. How reliable are the ball bearings? Do they stay in
place? Or would I have to keep my arm flat before they'd go back in to
position so I could tell the time? I suppose my question is how strong
is the magnetic force that keeps them in position.

Cheers,

Mo.

hi mo,

i have the original bradley watch which they launched on a crowd funding site
and this is very strongly made, it has had a few knocks without any damage.
and it's really supprising how well the concept of 2 tiny metal balls
travelling around in grooves works.
