Hi,

Actually there is an easier way.

Just go into Talks, not Talx any more, then Options, then About.  You will
see the version number and the date of release.

About 3 years I'd say or maybe even more.  One way to check yourself is to 
go to the blindsea website and find the different versions of Talks and the 
release dates.  Maybe he can upgrade it but again I am not sure, any of the 
Talks dealers like Steve or RNIB or TalkNav would be able to tell you that. 
There is perhaps a problem though regarding Licence transfer in relation to 
upgrading the version.  What phone is it.  For example it would not work on 
my Nokia E6 but would probably hapily work on a Nokia N95.
