Thanks to all who advised me on the KNFB Reader. It does sound like a very useful piece of kit. It was first suggested to meby an Access to Work advisor, so ATW would be paying for it. If you haven't either of these phones then forget it as you wont get best performance. Its made by the same people who make Kurzweil, so its bloody expensive for what it does which is essentiallyscan in documents using your digital camera on the phone. If you've alaptop that you regularly take in to meetings with you IE to take notes, youmight find it cheaper to buy yourself an external USB powered scanner and use that instead with supporting software.----- Original Message ----- From: Barry Hill <mailto:bbinc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2009 11:52 AM Subject: [access-uk] How good is the KNFB reader Hi all Although I do get quite a lot of information by email beforemeetings that I attend, there are the inevitable last minute documents thatare handed out. I've read up on the KNFB Reader, but the blurb is by the makers and distributors, those with a vested interest. So, I was wondering what anyone who is actually using it thinks ofit's performance. Does it read documents accurately? Is it quick and easyto use? Is it intrusive?
