Hi Jonathan

I assume you have thought of local Societies for the Blind?

Subject: [access-uk] How do you reach the most marginalised in society, often
those WITHOUT internet access?

access-uk is a wonderful resource and collection of both sighted and
non-sighted people helping each other.

And yet there are close to three quarters of a million blind, partially sighted
and disabled people who are cut off from the digital age.

For some, of course, this is a choice. But for many, it's a case of
vulnerability, fear of being scammed, or just genuine poverty.

I have many directories and local council contacts for local groups, but I was
wondering if there was an avenue I was missing out on to try and reach these
people?

Of course, the organisations that take my service to bridge that gap will have
their own way of contacting people who may be on their "books", as it were.

But while suggestions like RNIB's Insight radio are good (we're working on
it!), again, that's a "digital only" service; Smooth Radio only covers parts of
the country.

So if anyone has a suggestion, it would be hugely appreciated. Please remember,
this is NOT a product for which there is any charge or contact details required
from the end user.
All they need to know is the phone number to dial and that it's just a normal
call.

Hopefully the most listeners, the more service providers will be interested,
and we can fill that digital gap!
