i didn't know the products were sepearate, I thought v3 was a bundled
package, after all I've read did not make clear that eset were providing
just anti virus on its own.

Hi Martin,
You can just download Nod32 antivirus V3 without downloading the home
security part, and that will exclude the firewall then.
There is definitely an download link for 2.7 as well as 3, so let's not
panic eh?

HI all.
glad to hear some of the features of the new nod 32 are usable with the
mouse bit of screen readers. I visited the eset website, and although they
still mention v2.7 of nod 32 there doesn't seem to be a download link any
more, so i'd recommend backing up your current excecutable of the
instillation just in case you lose it. after reading Steve Nutt's post on
nod32 v3, I am in two minds whether to upgrade, the thing is, nod 32 v3 has
a firewall included with it, and i already have a firewall with paid
subscription, can one disable the firewall component?

Well I downloaded and installed version 3 and they still haven't implemented
non graphical interface. It was pretty much impossible to use. Some aspects
are just about usable with the jaws cursor, but I still couldn't manage to
get to all the parts of the settings. It also came up with some sort of
error message. I can't exactly remember the wording, but it said something
about many parts of nod32 not being able to function properly, but it didn't
give a reason. Due to such horrible interface of course it was impossible to
copy the message. Virus signatures were up to date, so I really am not sure
what the problem was.
So after that not very nice experience I now downgraded back to version 2.
Hopefully we will still be able to use this version for a while, but we got
to ask ourselves: is it time for a new anti-virus software? Shame though,
because nod32 is very powerful, light, fast, unobtrusive and was accessible.
