Hi,

I'm confused about what JAWS should be able to pick up in different views in Word and how to move between different parts of the documents like the main text, the footnotes and the comments. As far as I knew, if the view was set to print layout (Word 2003), when arrowing through the document JAWS should read footnotes. But this doesn't seem to be happening consistently. I've also noticed sometimes that JAWS announces the presence of a comment (in terms of saying [ct1] in the relevant place on a line of text) but sometimes it doesn't. When I write comments or look at footnotes, sometimes I seem to be able to get back to the main text by pressing f6 and sometimes not and I have to go into the View menu and set the view to normal. Sometimes after I do that I'm not back in the same part of the main text I was before I inserted the comment and I also worry that by putting the view into normal I won't be able to read footnotes.

I can't work out what the patterns/rules are so if anyone can explain what's meant to happen in terms of what views to use for what purposes, and how to move between the main text, the footnote pane and the comment pane I'd be pleased.

Thanks,
Catherine
