using nothing but the cell phone.

I'm slightly puzzled as to how your friend could get his Emails on the
phone
if he doesn't have computer access anyway. I send and receive Emails
using
TALKS on my mobile, but I have put my account details into the setup
fields.
Your friend would need to do that if he has an Email account with a
provider
in order to be able to use his phone to send and receive them. If,
however,
he only has a Hotmail account, I'm not sure how he would use it as I've
had
no success with Hotmail on the phone at all.

Does anyone, by any chance have a Nokia N73 phone with talks on and
could
help my friend. He has had talks on another phone, but has upgraded and
can't seem to read his emails. The place he bought the phone say it's
nothing to do with them and the bloke he sent the phone to to have the
talks put on it says it's nothing to do with him, so he's really stuck
and
very depressed about the whole thing. I've never had talks, so can't
help
either.
He does not have any computer access, so ideally, if there is anyone
out
there who would be kind enough to contact him by phone and help out, I
know he'd be really grateful. Many thanks to anyone who could help,
