Hi Barbara, editing a file in it is as simple as editing text in notepad. To 
do what you describe, saving a section as a separate file do this:
1 Play or fast forward to the beginning of the clip you want to save. On the edit menu go to set first position and press enter. Then play or fast forward to the end of the section, go to the edit menu and press enter on set second position. Then go to the edit menu and press enter on save select region as and press enter. Give it whatever name you want and save.

Hi All

I want to know if it is possible to do something and if so and someone

tell me how, would they be prepared to give me an idiot's guide
step-by-step instructions? And if possible, I want to use a program

is free.

I have an MP3 file about 120 minutes long. I want to extract a small
segment of this file and save as a separate MP3 file. Can I do this? And 
if so, can someone tell me how?
