Hi Mike,

As Eleanor has said, if upper case 3 is giving you the pound (sterling) symbol,
option 3 will give you a hash, which Voiceover will render as "number".

There are a couple of different UK keyboards available, including UK PC, which
might explain some of the differences.

Cheers,

Ed

Hi Eleanor,

This is interesting. Does it depend on which keyboard you have installed?

that is interesting, shift and number three together produce the hash key
on my MacBook hair. when I do this action voice over says number. if I do
option and the number three I get voice over say pound.

Hi all.

How do you input Hash on a MacBook Air? Uppercase 3 comes up as pound.

Thanks and regards,

Mike
