Is it possible that you may have locked it? Some scanners
have a mechanical locking mechanism, and I had occasions
where the lock has accidentally engaged.

Subject: [access-uk] Has my scanner died?

Hi all -

When I try to scan with my Epsom 3170 scanner, it makes a
kind of grinding
noise, and it shudders slightly, it's as if the camera is
stuck, unable to
scan the page. I then get a message telling me the scanner
isn't working,
and to check if it's plugged in etc.

Does this sound like a dead scanner? -
