HSBC have been installing the new machines that would have the capability to
talk since 2012, but the software to enable them to do so has only just been
installed early 2015.
Here's a paragraph on the subject from their website:
All HSBC ATMs are voice assisted allowing customers who are blind or
visually impaired to receive spoken instructions. It's easy to use just
connect your headset and plug it into the audio jack.
I suspect that connecting and plugging in are the same thing.
So, I guess it's a case of suck it and see.

Hi all
This morning I went into town with a friend to draw cash from this, to find
that a new one had been installed.
Braille on the lip at the front saying "headphone jack" and an arrow
pointing to the right.
Unfortunately, I didn't have any headphones with me.
Has anyone else come across one of these, or even used one successfully?
