I receive two types of HSBC bank statements.
One is same description as yours, but is a statement of bank charges
only.
My other statement, is the usual account transactions.
This is the statement that is on both sides of page.
The bank has told my sister
that the majority of visually impaired people found braille
on both sides of a paper better than on just one side. It was found
to
be more accessible to them. They said that they have to go with
what
the majority find more accessible and not what the individual
preference
may be.

I don't know about anyone else, butt my hsbc statements come in a
plastic bagg, and they're bound with metal bindings. They're on one
side of the paper each, in grade 2. I didn't have to ask for this,
this was just how they came.

Well RNIB was aware the majority didn't want the
talking news papers to change!
I don't believe the majority of Braille users actually said they
find Braille on both sides of paper better.
But to keep on topic I feel RNIB could be making it clear
to the bank, how easy it is to offer a choice.
Choice is offered for grade 1 Braille.
So technically choice is possible.
As for the consultation, was anyone on this list
consulted?
