Hi Steve

I've connected the box to my hifi using SKART to Phono and it sounds pretty good. I am thinking of investing in a digital to analogue converter as my amp doesn't have digital inputs.

I also have the box connected to my tv and the tv connected to the amp via sSKART to Phono. I then have my Apple TV connected to the Tvonics using HDMI. I have the box connected to my tv using HDMI and in this way can play the Apple TV through the box, tv and then to the amp. I mute the tv when playing the Apple TV.

I have the Apple TV through the tv linked to a separate input on the amp. Sounds pretty good.

Hope this makes sense and I guess it is indeed a hardware issue.

I am thinking of buying the Arcam Rdac but not sure what difference it would make. Any feedback would be welcome.

Paul

Hi Paul, it would be good if it could but I've a feeling this is a design
issue. Not necessarily a fault but a big inconvenience. I wondered about
connecting the TVonics to the Hi-Fi via the SCART out to two phono jacks and therefore bypassing the optical. It just sort of takes away the benefit of
using my Arcam DAC. May try this over the next copuple of days when time
permits.

Hi Steve

I have the same problem. The HDMI pass through doesn't feed the audio from
the Apple TV to the digital out but does to the tv.

We can ask Tvonics if it is possible to route the HDMI audio to the digital
out.

Subject: [access-uk] HDMI Input on TVonics

Hi There,

I have my apple tv connected to the TVonics via HDMI 1 input on the unit.
I
have a optical digital connector connected to an Arcam DAC from the
TVonics.
I can get audio no problem from the TVonics but as soon as I switch to the Apple tv by chaning the input on the TVonics to HDMI 1 I loose audio where it should be playing the audio from the Apple TV. If I turn the TV itself up, I get the audio from the Apple TV. So, the HDMI is carrying the audio
ok but it is not being transferred out via the optical out to the DAC.

Any ideas please?

Steve
