HARRY POTTER AND ACCESS TO BOOKSIan - I thought I heard last weekend that the supplier of the HP to Asda had cancelled their order because they discovered Asda were going to sell it at £8.95 instead of the regular price of £17.99. Maybe you have the updated info on this, but it surprises me as it's contrary to what the supplier made public a few days ago! Not that I'm sure what difference it makes to the supplier, as they will still get paid whatever the agreed wholesale price is. - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Ian Macrae To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, July 20, 2007 11:24 AM Subject: [access-uk] HARRY POTTER AND ACCESS TO BOOKS The availability of the new HP in accessible formats on the Same Book, Same Time, Same Price principle was discussed here recently. However, a piece on Today this morning reported that hardly anyone will be selling the book at it's cover price. ASDA has discounted it to £5. Not very likely, is it, that similar offers will be made to consumers of Braille or Daisy versions? My guess is that many people who're fans and who can - of whom I'm the latter but not the former - will head for their nearest supermarket and get the book on their scanner. http://www.bbc.co.uk This e-mail (and any attachments) is confidential and may contain personal views which are not the views of the BBC unless specifically stated.
