Actually Martin you do. If you order the print version of the book you will receive it tomorrow. This happened with both the Half Blood Prince and the Order of the Phoenix.


It only doesn't apply to the audio versions as available from mainstream shops.

Yes, but if you go to the shop, you can buy the book itself. If you get it
posted to you you don't get it on the 21st.

It's the same as for albums bought over the net.  If the release date
is

july and the sites shipped it before that date to get it to their
customers
and the customers got it before the release date, how annoyed would the
publishers be?
