Well good for you my friend,I love dogs as well and I have trained lots of dogs as well but I still don't like the way gdba are going and I am still on the list for a dog at the moment, but I am considering taking my name off the list.
I have had dogs since 1983 and whilst I would not clame to be an expert I would say I have had enough experience to have seen how they used to train the dogs and the caliber of the dogs are no where near what they used to be.
I think the dogs are going out to young and think the training is lacking it has been a while since I have been trained so things may have been improved, My other half has just been trained about 6 weeks ago and she has had more problems with this dog than she had from the other 2 dogs before.
Anyway I think it is a bad thing to get so dependent on a dog that you can't go out without it or won't go out without it.
Just my thoughts now I am not going to respond any more on this thread but I wish you all the luck and hope you get your problems sorted.
Just remember if it was not for folks like you who need a dog thely would not be in a job, it's good to listen to good advice but I would have thought most dogs can cope with busy condition's?
If you live in a city it is probable that you will go into town and just because it's Xmas well you need to go into town like anyone else end of rant.
