Hi Even if it does cost us a donation now to get it, it is worth every penny.

Regards

Hi,

If FS went bust, we'd use NVDA <Big Smile>.

All the best

I Steve
Yes you are right! I think my mistake was that I didn't
know that Google
Was different to igoogle!

Anyway, I guess we should not depend just on Google,
should we!
It's like what if FS was to go bust, how will those of
us
That rely on jaws, manage!

Regards, Derek

Hi Derek,

You're pretty good at panic reporting ,Smile>. You'd never
make a
journalist. You should research before you report such
inaccuracy. Just
sayin.

All the best

Thank you, yes I did fiind it confusing.
I was able to click the link for:

http://support.google.com/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answ
er=2664197
But still thought Google was closing next year.

I think I see where the confusion is coming from:

Derek has probably bookmarked an old google service called
igoogle,
which was like a sort of personalised homepage.

On this page is a note at the top saying "iGoogle will not
be
available after November 1, 2013".
Immediately next to this is a link saying "learn more". I
don't know
quite why Derek was unable to click this link, but it
leads to the
following URL http://goo.gl/Sq8HR which says the
following; again,
note that this is only a specific old google personalised
page, and
it's not happening for 16 months. Rather different from
the $191
billion dollar company closing!

"What's happening to iGoogle?
iGoogle will be retired in 16 months, on November 1, 2013.
The mobile
version will be retired on July 31, 2012.

How did you come to this decision?
We originally launched iGoogle in 2005 before anyone could
fully
imagine the ways that today's web and mobile apps would
put
personalized, real-time information at your fingertips.
With modern
apps that run on platforms like Chrome and Android, the
need for
something like iGoogle has eroded over time, so we'll be
winding down
iGoogle on November 1, 2013, giving you a full 16 months
to adjust or
easily export your iGoogle data."
