Hi.

Having thoroughly evaluated this radio this morning, there’s just a few things 
I’d add to those of you who are prospective buyers.  This is indeed a fabulous 
radio, one of the best matchbox radios I’ve seen in years and surprisingly 
enough, has a headphone socket which actually delivers crisp, clear audio when 
using a premium pair of headphones.  The extendable antenna is only used when 
the headphones socket is not being used, as the radio will default to using the 
headphone cable as the antenna.  I discovered this when I tried to hook up the 
radio to an external speaker for better sound output, only to find the 
reception wasn't that good even with the Arial fully extended.  To those of you 
who are audiophiles, this radio does also output in stereo, but only on stereo 
DAB stations, which I’m surprised to find are quite scarce.

    Hi,
     
    Because DAB is very low quality compressed crap.  I can get better quality 
on my Sky box.  The bandwidth on DAB is too low to take it seriously.

    I only hesitate because when I bought my husband a portable DAB radio a 
couple of years ago, he could get so few stations.
    The Government had originally planned to withdraw the FM Service (I think 
by 2015) but they need to do a lot more about signal boosting and most people I 
know still listen to FM radio rather than DAB.
