Our media centre picks up lots of the DAB stations, some of which are quite
good, but my husband's little portable one only picks up one or two and even
my Pure DAB radio only picks up ten or so.

I agree.  The DAB signal in our area is quite poor, so it will be
interesting for me to determine just how good this radio is at getting one.
I think DAB is very over-rated personally, but I like to listen to the news
and sport when I am away, and just having a small radio to turn on quickly
is more convenient sometimes.

I only hesitate because when I bought my husband a portable DAB radio a
couple of years ago, he could get so few stations.

The Government had originally planned to withdraw the FM Service (I think by
2015) but they need to do a lot more about signal boosting and most people I
know still listen to FM radio rather than DAB.
