Hi Ian, I think the same thing also has happened to me when I tried selecting a bunch of messages and then pressed the delete key. However, in the folder tab, on the virtual ribbon, there is a empty folder option, which will empty any folder that you happen to be in at the time. Each time I have used that, nothing has happened to the Outlook program. The Gmail server has messages going back to 2009, taking up 85% of her Gmail space. Is there a way she can quickly and easily empty her Gmail inbox? She would also like to know if she can easily delete all the messages which have come down into her Outlook inbox. When she attempts to delete the contents of the Outlook inbox, Outlook goes into a not responding mode and eventually closes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Iain
