Well, thanks for that additional information, Ray. I'll just have to make sure I get some sighted help so that I don't encounter that frustration, I guess.
I'm probably not as clever as you to do it on your own.

Hmmm! Some good news and bad news about removing Norton.
Yes, there is a removal tool that seems to combine and automatethe removal ofNorton System works, Norton Internet Security, etc, and I used touse all ofthese. The tool, which I still have in its original downloadedform workedlike a charm. After a reboot, it was all gone, except maybe QDfast and safecleanup was left, but that wasn't a problem.
so, where's the catch? Well, and much to my surprise, when I ranthismarvelous tool, what should appear? A graphical display askingfor averification al la Google, eBay et al. I was truly gobsmacked, but dutifullycomplying - and it didn't work first time around - the programafter a minuteor two did its magic, and Norton was gone.
I don't know if this program is meant to work online and thusneeds thisverification in that context, but it struck me as strange, to putit verymildy.
So, there you are, a solution of sorts to removing Norton. I'velived happilyever after. Ray
