I have this speaker, but discovered there was a firmware update for it last
week which I promptly did, and then got everything back as before. I agree
though that the app is absolutely vile, I try to avoid it at all costs. I
know Steve is trying to encourage GGMM to get their act together with it
though, but it does make using it very frustrating.

Subject: [access-uk] GGMM E5 speaker
Does anyone on this list own the GGMM E5 range of speakers? I have the one
with built-in Alexa.
Mine was working perfectly until this morning at which point, when I pressed
the talk button to talk to Alexa, the speaker's own voice said:-
"Login unsuccessful. Please try setting up your Amazon account via the App".
I promptly opened the GGMM app (which I hadn't opened for ages because I
hadn't really needed to) and got a shock! The app seems much more
inaccessible now than it did when I first set up my speaker as there are a
lot of unlabelled buttons. However I managed to find the one that took me
into a screen where I could find the Alexa settings and having gone in there
it was still showing that my Alexa was set to English United Kingdom. What
worries me about the GGMM app is that I used to be able to find an area where
I could launch one of the built-in streaming services such as Tunein but I
can't find this any more which means I am unable to search for anything
manually either! Not only that but now my presets, which I set up when I
first had the speaker don't seem to work and now I can't do anything about
I then went onto launch the Alexa app and I don't seem to be able to get
anywhere with that either. It takes me to a screen where it asks me to let
Alexa get to know me and I don't seem to be able to negotiate that screen
either. Please can someone offer me some advice as to what I need to do?
If anyone would prefer to contact me off list as this could get quite
involved then that is fine.
