Hi. Does this speaker have more base than the UE Boombox latest addition which
has Alexa built in?

Hi John,

I just updated the firmware using an iPhone and it is completely accessible.

First, go into the app with the speaker turned off.

When it starts searching, turn the speaker on.

Once it says Router Connected, it should tell you on the app there is an
update.  Make sure to plug the speaker into the mains when updating, as it
takes a while.

I believe Jackie also did the update without any sighted help, so it is
certainly do-able.

All the best

Steve
