HI. I fixed the issue with some shell fix, I will post a link to the internet resource I used if anyone wants this. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of James Scholes Sent: 22 December 2008 09:28 To: martin wilsher Subject: [access-uk] Re: Fwd: Re: FW: Curious windows explorer issue. Hi Martin, The only other thing I can suggest is to check your view menu, especially the toolbars menu, as it sounds like the search bar is turned on. Also, try downloading a tool called TweakUI, this can disable search in Explorer altogether which should solve your problem. On Monday, December 22, 2008 at 05:13 AM (GMT), martin wilsher wrote: HI. THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO CURE THE ISSUE. THANKS ANYWAY. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of James Scholes Sent: 22 December 2008 01:00 To: Access-UK mailing list Subject: [access-uk] Fwd: Re: FW: Curious windows explorer issue. When you are using My Computer or Windows Explorer, if you either use control e or check the search tool bar in the tool bars submenu, the Windows search dialog opens. However, in XP Home, at least on my machine, the search dialog does not come up the next time you run Windows Explorer or My Computer. It is also not checked in the tool bars submenu. What you are describing appears to indicate that you see this search feature every time you open a folder. Try turning it off with control e.
