Barry,

I fully agree with you about the software option, far simpler. All that
happens with the USB fob is when the code is required, enter the fob,
the code is grabbed and that's it I believe.

Dave

Does the USB version talk directly to the PC then? Wouldn't it be
better if they all used this process? In fact, why not send out a small
programme on a disc that generates a code every sixty seconds, just like
the fob.

Barry,

The security fob at the centre of this debate is available in USB format
and so all that is required is for the banks to supply this format to
its blind customers (damn used the B word again LOL). No eye sight
required, just some foresight from the banks.

Yes, I'd say we are being offered an inferior level of security. The
current level is inferior to the proposed level and we have to miss out
on it. It is like living in an apartment block where every flat has
their security system up-graded because the neighbourhood has become
dangerous, but they don't install the new system in the blind persons
flat because they can't use the keypad. Yes, there is insurance, but
the blind person is still more vulnerable to attack.

Barry,

Isn't this what the banks believe that ACD will be for the time being?
or
until the fraudsters catch up with the technology at least? There are
some
on this list that will continue to cowtail to establishment and 'do what
they're told' because there independent judgement of living in a
barrier
free society is clouded.
Kind regards

Colin
