Hi Ray,

I'm up for that, but let's wait for the release, then talk to Graham, if we
can.

Just like to second Steves point when he writes:

. I wish they would do an option that | included real video recording
though, and not just sound. I know some blind
| people prefer sound only, so they don't have to pay for a licence, but
| it is so specialist. It would be nice if a blind person could buy one
| of these, and share it with the rest of the family too. They could
| then have just one accessible freeview box, instead of, in the case of
| people with sighted families perhaps, two freeview boxes, just so
| everyone can get the best out of the telly. In my view, it would have
| been better for Portset to have made two versions of it, so that one
| could have the choice of real accessible video recording in a stand alone
box.

Its my impression that Portset, having solved, or partly solved, the problem
of of accessing Teletext in Freeview, aims to corner the market for a sound
only device for the blind market. But not all of us are totally blind, or
live in an entirely blind household.

I think a few of us who feel this way should look on Portsets website for an
email contact to try and demonstrate the support for a full video version of
this device once the sound only one has been released, which should be soon.

| Hi Peter,
|
| I too, heard a demo from Sight Village. I wish they would do an

| Nebula PC card that gives you this accessibility, and it would have
| been a good opportunity here, that I feel, Portset are currently
| missing. Netgem too are missing the point of accessible video
| recording, as they too, haven't done it. And what about partially sighted
people? Do they too want sound only? Oh well, good ol' Portset.

| I heard this being demonstrated at Sight Village. THey were calling
| it "the Portset media centre", and it was due to be released this month.
