Dear All, The BBC is shifting from its old BBC Listen Again service to the new iPlayer, which means that the WebbIE Accessible BBC Listen Again program will stop working. At the time of writing Radio stations 1, 2, 5 and 1Xtra have completely disappeared from Accessible Listen Again, the rest will go shortly. A chap from the BBC was kind enough to point this out yesterday, so I've quickly started re-writing the application using some information provided by the BBC discussion groups and the BBC chap from iPlayer. It doesn't have all of the old features yet, but it's getting there. Download from here: http://download.webbie.org.uk/test/BBCiPlayerListenAgain.exe It doesn't require an installer, just download and run. To obviate the need for an installer it doesn't have a status bar yet. You still need Real Player or Real Alternative installed. Select a TV station from the TV menu (alt and T) or a Radio station from the Radio menu (alt and R). A list of programmes will appear. Press return to start playing. Press escape to stop. Some programmes don't have Real Audio streams, but still appear in the list. If one is encountered then your web browser will open on the web page. This'll happen for every TV programme and some Radio programmes - I don't know why yet. If anyone would like to try it out and let me know your feedback, or use it if Accessible BBC Listen Again has stopped carrying your preferred station, then that'd be great. Otherwise there should be a WebbIE update in the next few weeks with the missing functionality filled in. Apologies to anyone inconvenienced. On the plus side, it indexes TV stations and it's faster than the old mechanism. Features to add back in before release: Forward and backward button. Control keys (numeric keypad, shortcut keys) Progress indicator. Status bar. I'm not intending to add a volume control. This is because the Real Player component shares the volume with your screenreader, so it's too easy for users to turn off the volume on their machines.
