As far as I can see, pressing ENTER sends the message. Iain----- Original Message ----- From: "Vanja Sudar" <vanja@xxxxxxxxxxx>

It is a live chat facility. I wouldn't mind it if I knew how to successfully send the message with jaws. The messages can clearly be read, it's just the question of sending them. As for disabling, you can make yourself appear offline. I think if you click on the clickable link that says online, the little menu pops up or toggles your status. I haven't done it in a while, so can't remember exactly, but try to play about at the top where the chat is because I'm sure it can be done. Also, again, if anyone can help or knows how to send facebook chat messages successfully using jaws, please let us know.Vanja http://www.sudar.co.uk http://mashupradio.net MSN/windows live messenger: sudar23@xxxxxxxxxxx AIM: vanja121 Skype: vanja121----- Original Message ----- From: "Justine Fallis" <justine@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, September 06, 2008 12:55 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Frustrating - FacebookHi VanjaYes, I think it must be a live chat facility. I wonder if I can disable it if it isn't accessible with JAWS? I did that once on an internet site because people didn't realise that JAWS didn't work well with that facility.Justine Fallis E-mail/MSN justine@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Vanja Sudar" <vanja@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, September 05, 2008 7:06 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Frustrating - FacebookHi, I think Justine was talking about the facebook live chat. It was recently discussed either here or on jaws list, but I don't think anyone came up with the solution of how to send a message. Either that or I missed it. But if anyone does know how to send a message while in chat please let us know. Like people said the enter key doesn't work.Vanja http://www.sudar.co.uk http://mashupradio.net MSN/windows live messenger: sudar23@xxxxxxxxxxx AIM: vanja121 Skype: vanja121----- Original Message ----- From: "alex thynne" <alex.thynne@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, September 05, 2008 6:34 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Frustrating - Facebookhaven't seen that so far when I've looked around Justine, I'll go up there now and see if I can replicate what you've found. I did it atwork, and was wearing headphones on a PC rather than using my laptop so thespeech was much clearer. On another matter, obviously I'm only just getting used to using Facebook and its facilities, but I heard a funny noise, and found some text from one of my friends, an edit box underneath the text and then a clear chat history button (well, JAWS said clear chat history clickable... I tried to write text in the edit box, assuming that it was some kind of chat facility but there was no option available to post what I'd written. Any suggestions?Justine Fallis E-mail/MSN justine@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: "alex thynne" <alex.thynne@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, September 04, 2008 1:44 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Frustrating - FacebookI managed to contact facebook and got them to create an account which Ithen changed the password for.Captcher is a problem for me too on both googlegroups and yahoogroups as I wanted to set up a new list, but I'll have to wait until my sister comes along to help me. I don't see why I should have to install a new browser unless I really am forced to. How long would it be before Firefox won'twork with captcher or some other such inaccessible method for creating accounts. I see it as an ever growing problem on the internet. I was just trying to sign up with a Facebook accountandcouldn't do it because of the stupid kapcha where you have to fill in thetext. yes, they have a so-called audio kapcha on the site but it's totally inaudible and there's no way I could get it right (I tried about 10 times!) Has anyone else successfully managed to set up an account?
