Hi Carol, Yes indeed. You definitely don't need Windows Firewall, if you have a good firewall in your router, and Linksys firewalls are excellent, I have read lots of reviews on that score, and mine didn't for example, get hacked by the Shields Up test on http://www.grc.com. Besides, Windows Firewall is pretty ineffective anyway, turn it off is my advice. All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. Windows firewall has been active for some time and I didn't alter anything when I installed the new router; so maybe . . .. I've never really thought I should risk turning it off. Have you read anything to convince you that you don't need it with the router firewall? -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, May 06, 2007 10:11 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Freedombox users, does it work for you? > Hi Carol, > > That's weird.
