[access-uk] Re: Four apps for iPod Touch/iPhone to recommend

Well, I feel a bit like a kid in a candy shop browsing all these different
apps. Many of course wouldn't interest me, but there are some that I
wouldn't mind trying out, and may end up risking. I guess it depends on
what you are interested in, but the whole point of this is that there is so
much out there you can tap into thanks to VoiceOver and not just a regular
screenreader that tends to dictate to you rather than you being able to have
some choice. For anyone whoever carries doubts about not being able to use
one of these devices if you have very little or no sight, then do take the
opportunity to visit a store and have a play, you really will find it easier
than you might imagine, I certainly didn't think I'd get this far.

I suppose, for me, it's the closest thing to being able to go into a library
or book shop and browsing what categories are on offer. True some don't and
might never work, but it's so much fun being able to just find out exactly
what is out there and then making an informed choice.

Love it.

Jackie Cairns

Hi Jackie.

Exactly, if the app is only a couple of quid or less even, its just not
worth the bother of trying to get a refund out of apple, though if you can,
its always a bonus. I bought Tom-tom UK and Ireland because listening to a
podcast which compared GPS programs it sounded quite good, but I decided I
didn't like it so approached Apple for a refund. Even though there was no
real reasoning behind my request other than I already had GPS in the form of
Navigon, they gave me my refund never the less as a gesture of goodwill.

All the best, Ibrahim.
