Has any list member tried the on line scanner recently released by Eset the developers of NOd32? May be useful as a check for non NOD32 users. ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter Beasley To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 5:08 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Found the cause of why my virus shield went out of date You have to pay for it, but I find nod32 extremely good and it can update half a dozen times a day if it needs to. ----- Original Message ----- From: Léonie Watson To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 5:00 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Found the cause of why my virus shield went out of date Hannah, It's likely that you don't have AVG setup to regularly update itself. Most anti virus packages will download libraries of information about current virus threats, which enable them to stay one jump ahead of most nasties. I don't use AVG, so can't offer any definite advice, but check through the settings to make sure that it's setup to download virus libraries at least once a week, more often if you're on a broadband connection. Internet Explorer and e-Bay both have their insecurities, but neither of them should be the reason AVG ran out of date. If you've reinstalled AVG ok, it doesn't seem that your licence is out of date, which is why I think the above is worth checking.
