Thanks for such a detailed reply Andy. I will certainly give it a go. I assume this includes european adventures as well, (radio manchester permitting); Does anyone else know of any other premier fc sites that follow the example of liverpool and man city with live commentaries? ----- Original Message ----- From: "ANDY COLLINS" <Andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi John -

Firstly, just so we're clear, this is on the PC, not the IPhone etc.

And, since I wrote that it was necessary to have JFW12 to access the listen button, the sight has yet again been amended, and as of last Wednesday, I found that I was able to use JFW9 to listen to the commentary.

The one thing that I find annoying about

www.mcfc.co.uk

is how quickly the home page can refresh. The link you want is called 'match day centre' It is only there close to kick-off time. This should bring up a page of buttons that can be clicked by JFW to see things like Manager notes, player stats etc. And there is a listen button, but when they have been messing with the website [this is what I call amending it] the listen button does seem to get a change of name, so sometimes I have seen it as 'listen on Key103' [a local station in Manchester] or 'follow the game live on BBC Radio Manchester.'

Thing is, if you make use of the search for a button navigation in JFW [the letter b, on the keyboard] you should find the buttons to click. Just look for the one that mentions live commentary rather than text commentary, and you should be good to go.

Again, mcfc seem to consider themselves as one of the best club websites there is, and they do like to tinker, presumably to justify their claim, and I have found some times that this can lead to problems accessing the broadcast. I have found if a commentary isn't available immediately at the start of a game, it gets fixed, and is there part way through the match.

It appears that for this season, they are taking the commentary from Radio Manchester who cover all City's games.

The bottom line is that most of the time the commentary is available, but that sometimes it gets broken, and sometimes the page can refresh before finding the desired link or button. A little patience always gets results for me.

HTH -

Andy

Andy, furtherg to your email below, even with jaws 12, I don't seem to be able to access anything on mcfc that equates to live audio commentary of any kind. No "play" buttons in site! Could you give us chapter and verse please? Does one have to log in or subscribe? which links is the play button, or commentary link between, etc? any further would help with precise navigation on which, together with liverpool fc, is a fairly unfriendly website!

Hi Jackie -

Yusuf was asking about live commentaries, Tune-In only delivers what is already available on-line, and apart from Talk Sport, 5Live, 5Live Sports Extra, and Absolute Radio Extra, no other stations that I know of have permission to broadcast premier league games. This is apart of course from my most wonderful Manchester City, who allow BBC Manchester commentaries on their website, even though they are not allowed on BBC Manchester's own website.

So, any body supporting a prem team can get two free commentaries a season by going to:

www.mcfc.co.uk

bear in mind however that JFW earlier than version 12, can not see the listen button on the webpage, JFW12 and System Access can though -

Hi Yusuf

Then I would recommend Tune In Radio for around 59p. I use it all the time for stations you can't pick up on the Sky or Freeview boxes, for example.
As for DAB, well I can't get that here anyway.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi, I'm just wondering what people are doing to listen to football
commentaries either on their IPhones or on their PCs. I can't stand Talk Sport and they are doing United's commentary this evening and I'm trying to
find a way of listening to the match without listening to Talk Sport or
subscribing to MU TV.
Cheers
Yusuf
