Thanks for that. So really it is for multimedia purposes? So why would a site which does not offer any media experiences use flash? What a question *smile*. Well, if you use the BBC IPlayer, YouTube and about a dozen other popular websites that blind people visit, you'll not be able to access the multimedia content that is offered if you disable flash. Of course, that comes with a stick in that there are many websites that detect if you have flash installed or enabled and then present a totally inaccessible or very difficult user experience, for instance the Nokia PC Suite download page. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Barbara Wilson To: Access-UK Sent: Thursday, May 21, 2009 1:53 PM Subject: [access-uk] Flash on Websites Hi All I'm not a technical expert, so need some advice. As a JAWS user I mostly have JAWS set to ignore flash on webpages, unless it is necessary to change the setting to access the full features of a Website. I was wondering what are the advantages of having flash on a Website? Are they purely esthetic or are the advantages more than cosmetic?
