Hi Andy,

I think you would need fairly good ears to detect the difference, but there
is a difference.

All the best

Steve

For me, if it is held directly under a ceiling light, it makes the same high
pitched sound it does for natural light -

| Now you've done it Steve. Ian is running about with the Colorino testing
| natural and artificial light (smile.) Very clever that. I never knew you
| could do that with it as I don't use the light probe bit of it much.

|
| Hi Andy,
|
| Not only that, but the light probe can tell you whether it is natural or
| artificial light. If you hear a buzzing kind of sound in the note, then
the
| light is artificial, but if it is a pure note, then the light is natural.
| To hear the difference, first turn on a light, and measure, then turn off
| all lights, and point at a window in the daylight, and you will hear the
| difference. That is the most advanced light probe I have seen.
|
| All the best

|
| Hi all -
|
| Got my Colorino colour identifyer today, and my first impressions are that
| it scores well over the Cobolt equivalent. It is also much smaller, and
much
| better built, and the light probe is much more useful too as it actually
| pinpoints the direction of the light source.
|
| I haven't had any sighted clarification yet, but where I am able to say
with
| some certainty, it is more accurate in colour detection than the Cobolt;
it
| is also a bit more expensive at £73.48 [including p&p]
|
| What I am wondering is how to recalerbrate it and to change the volume,
| there doesn't seem a way to do this? There also doesn't appear to be an
| off-on switch.
|
| The Colorino comes in a rather odd zip-book type pouch.
|
| Anyway, all in all, a good buy I think -
|
| Andy
